There was another much-awaited cybercrop on UKScrappers last weekend. The theme was Wicked - the Wizard of Oz. A cybercrop is an online event, in this case over a weekend, in which classes are posted (PDFs with clear instructions and lovely pics) as well as challenges related to the theme, and scrappers either individually or together follow as many classes and challenges as possible, posting pictures of their layout and other projects by a deadline at the end of the weekend.
Prizes can be won for the best layouts, but that's not why the scrappers do it. I only got two layouts done, but for me it was an excuse to pick up my scissors and glue for the first time in a very busy few months! Thanks UKS and roll on the next one!

Scrapping or knitting?
Several of the Chicks ladies have taken up knitting recently. They particularly enjoy the Mystery Blanket projects, where each week the pattern for a square of a blanket is revealed, and you don't know what the whole thing looks like until the end.
There are some lovely squares taking shape, with interesting patterns, colours and beads. I loved too the gorgeous furry throw that Debs made from eyelash wool. I don't knit, but it's fun watching everyone else's projects take shape.

Free daily journalling prompts
I have collected all my journalling prompts (I'm a writing tutor) and am offering them starting today as a free ongoing journalling class or daily journalling prompts to use as you like.
We'll be having themes, and the first week's is MUSIC.
The prompts are suitable for scrapbooking, blogging or art journalling.
Come along and join me! And if you'd like to be on the design team (occasional contributions not every day!), let me know.

Inspirational blogs
I love looking at inspirational blogs - and I'm not the only one, as Nics definitely mentioned the other day that she was looking for some too. This one is not only an inspirational blog in itself but consists of links to other people's inspiring blogs. Quite a find! Inspirational craft blogs

Are you a scrapper if you're not scrapping?
Talk about serendipity!
I've been really busy with work recently (I have just started my own company - not related to scrapbooking!) and haven't been doing much papercraft. I made a few cards because people has birthdays and it still goes against the grain to buy them... but I haven't been able to do much scrapbooking other than buying some stash (well I can't give THAT up!). So I was wondering for how long you need to be not scrapping - for whatever reason, lack of time, lack or inspiration, whatever - before you have to stop calling yourself a scrapper...
As I was writing the above I was at the same time listening to a podcast interview with Ali Edwards. And she actually answered my question in the podcast: she says: “I’m one of these manic creative people – make a whole bunch of stuff and then do nothing for a while…I have these big spurts and do all these creative projects and then just rest…”
So maybe it's all right. I can still say "I'm a scrapper."
